Abstract

Se realizó una investigación con el objetivo de mostrar una semblanza del Comandante Dr. Alberto Oscar Ibietatorremendía Vega en el décimo aniversario de su fallecimiento. Hombre de positivos valores morales, políticos y sociales, que además de ejercer la Medicina y practicar varios deportes, integró varios procesos revolucionarios de izquierda con carácter antiimperialista, desde la Joven Cuba hasta el Movimiento 26 de Julio. Continuó en las filas del movimiento revolucionario donde asumió todas las tareas asignadas, especialmente el cumplimiento de misiones internacionalistas en Argelia y Nicaragua. Su vida constituye un digno ejemplo para las nuevas generaciones de médicos cubanos y debe figurar en la historia de la Medicina cubana.
