Abstract

El desarrollo de la tecnociencia ha conducido a una sociedad de riesgo. Esta última exige un comprometimiento mayor de la ciencia con respecto a los problemas de los más necesitados. A pesar del avance tecnológico de la oftalmología el número de pacientes con ceguera en el mundo es alarmante. En este trabajo se analizan los determinantes de salud relacionados con la ceguera a nivel mundial desde la perspectiva de la ciencia, tecnología y sociedad.
