Teledermatology from an integrative position of professional functions in the health sector

Introduction: Teledermatology constitutes a highly innovative alternative proposal, applicable to the solution of dermatological professional problems from an integrative perspective. The present study aims to reveal theoretical and methodological aspects for the development of teledermatology from an integrative perspective of professional functions in the health sector. Method: A qualitative research study was conducted between march 2024 and december 2024, with the participation of professionals associated with various higher education centers. Theoretical methods such as analysis and synthesis, historical-logical analysis, and systematization were employed. Empirically, a document review was used, and a focus group was formed, using WhatsApp as a communication tool, to obtain evaluative criteria regarding the relevance of the study results. Results: Trends and potential for the curricular inclusion of teledermatology in specialized postgraduate training were identified. The need for a specific legal framework for its uniform development was established, and a set of theoretical and methodological aspects were established, with an integrative approach to professional functions. Discussion: The significance of the results was assessed, revealing a correlation with previous studies regarding the need to optimize the care, educational, research, and managerial functions of healthcare professionals in teledermatology.Downloads
